Ok, this might be a little confusing because it's two requests in one.

First, I think you should set up a new Category in these forums for a 'Wishlist' so that we can ask for new features for SilverCart. There are a couple features I would like to see added to this module.

1. add Wishlist (module?) capability, so they can add to cart or add to wishlist (think Amazon.com). They can always come back to their account and add to their wishlist, and eventually move something to the shopping cart from the wishlist and purchase it.

2. add Recommended Products (module?) so if a shopper is looking at an item (say...T-shirts) they can see other products that the shop recommends. Or, it could be on a 'most viewed' or 'most purchased' basis so they can try to promote more products. I can also see this addition being more elaborate too...say you are buying a new kitchen sink...you might want to recommend something related like the faucet, drain pipes and hoses, garbage disposal, etc that goes with the new sink...so it can also be a 'Related Products' module.

Anyway...hope this makes sense...and you can move this post to a new category if you create one for such requests.

The idea of relations between products that are compatible to each other or a cross selling of any kind will be one of our top priority features. Thanks for Your request. Give me another week or two for implementation.

Any thoughts on adding a Wishlist, or do you think that should be a module/add-on of it's own? hmmm...maybe I just thought of a good side project for myself!

We discussed Your wishlist idea on our teabreak in the office kitchen. This feature has a minor priority on our agenda.
The features we implement first are the ones that meet our clients meets and the features that make our module popular for in international audience. Your first idea was to change the way VAT is handled because our VAT implementation does not meet US needs at all. To make the module attractive for US programmers (especially You ;)) and programmers from countries with similar tax systems, we will change the tax implementation soon. We did not think about this before you told us because we had only european customers yet. There are many things difficult about our tax laws but the VAT system is easy to comprehend: In Germany we have only two VAT rates.
We really appreciate if You would create a wishlist module.

we did some major changes to tax handling. Every customer class (anonymous, b2b, b2c, admins) can be configured to show prices net or gross via the config object. Further you can decorate the class SilvercartTax and change the behavior of its function getTaxRate().
