future of DataObjectManager

SilverCast is using atm DataObjectManager module and I wonder what is the future of it considering SilverStripe-3.0?
I'm starting learning about SS & SC, so wonder what will be obsolete when we'll jump to 3.0...and you're probably much better informed about it. ;)

So, there is a lot of movement and it seems like there will be substantial changes coming with SS3.
We will look at this in detail once we start preparing for SS3, but as of now this is still out of scope.
